పాఠకులకు నమస్కారం

అష్ట సిద్ధులు (ఎనిమిది దివ్య సిద్ధులు):  

     మన  హిందూ శాస్త్రాలలో యోగులు, ఋషులు తీవ్రమైన తపస్సు మరియు 

   యోగసాధన ద్వారా  ఎన్నో శక్తులని, సిద్ధులని పొందేవారు. వాటిలో 

    ముఖ్యమైన  అసాధారణ సిద్ధులే ఈ అష్ట సిద్ధులు . ఈ అష్ట సిద్ధుల గురించి 

   ఒక శ్లోకం కూడా ప్రాచుర్యం లో వుంది.

    శ్లోకం :

అణిమా మహిమా చైవ గరిమా లఘిమా తథా 

         ప్రాప్తిః ప్రాకామ్యమీశిత్వం వశిత్వం చాష్టసిద్ధయః

          ఇప్పుడు ఈ అష్ట సిద్ధులు వాటి అర్ధాలు చూద్దాం.

1. అణిమ  – అణువు కంటే చిన్నదిగా మారగల శక్తి.

2. మహిమ  – అపారమైన పరిమాణానికి విస్తరించగల శక్తి.

3. గరిమ  – అత్యంత బరువుగా మారగల శక్తి.

4. లఘిమ  – అత్యంత తేలికగా మారగల శక్తి; గాలిలో సంచరించగలగడం.

5. ప్రాప్తి  – కోరుకున్న వస్తువు లేదా స్థలాన్ని చేరుకోగల శక్తి;                                                      దూరంలోని విషయాలను గ్రహించగలగడం.

6. ప్రాకామ్య  – సంకల్పించినది నెరవేర్చుకునే శక్తి; ఇష్టానుసారం కార్యసిద్ధి.

7. ఈశిత్వ  – సృష్టిలోని అంశాలపై అధిపత్యం లేదా నియంత్రణ కలిగిన శక్తి.

8. వశిత్వ  – ఇతరులను లేదా ప్రకృతి శక్తులను తన వశంలో ఉంచగల శక్తి.

      ఈ అష్ట సిద్ధుల గురించి పురాణాలలో, గ్రంధాలలో, ఇంకా చాల చోట్ల 

    ప్రస్తావించబడింది. ముఖ్యంగా మనం హనుమాన్ చాలీసా చూసుకుంటే 

   అందులో " అష్ట సిద్ధి నవ నిధికి దాత  " అని ఉంటుంది. గణపతి మరియు 

   హనుమంతుడు ఈ అష్ట సిద్దులకి ప్రసిద్దులు .

Ashta Siddhis (The Eight Divine Powers) :

                        In Hindu scriptures, yogis and sages attained many powers and spiritual 

accomplishments through intense penance and yogic practice. Among them, the most 

extraordinary are the Ashta Siddhis, the Eight Divine Powers. A well-known verse 

describing these siddhis is widely cited. 

 Verse:

         " Anima Mahima Chaiva Garima Laghima Tatha Praptih Prakamyam Ishitvam 

         Vashitvam Chashta Siddhayah "

     Now, let us look at these eight siddhis and their meanings. 

     Anima – The power to  become smaller than an atom. 

    Mahima – The power to expand oneself to an immense size. 

     Garima – The power to become extremely heavy. 

    Laghima – The power to become extremely light and move through the air. 

   Prapti – The power to obtain or reach any desired object or place; the ability to 

                   perceive distant things. 

   Prakamya – The power to fulfill one's desires and accomplish whatever one wills. 

   Ishitva – The power of lordship, mastery, or control over the elements of creation. 

   Vashitva – The power to bring others or the forces of nature under one's control. 

                   These Ashta Siddhis are mentioned in the Puranas, sacred texts, and many 

   other spiritual works. In particular, the Hanuman Chalisa contains the famous line, 

   “Ashta Siddhi Nava Nidhi Ke Data” (Bestower of the Eight Siddhis and Nine      

    Treasures).  Lord Ganesha and Lord Hanuman are especially renowned for 

    possessing these eight siddhis.
